Beginning of narrative ideas

Gabrielle Aplin, an introduction

Research

I am working with Bea Morris
We have decided to create a music video, relating to the genre of indie pop! We chose to target an indie audience as recently there has been an inflation in the number of people who enjoy this style of music (we also think it will be fun to create!) Together we decided that we thought it would be a better idea to create a narrative piece so that we could tell a story rather than just provide the viewers with a video of a band singing. This way we feel that we can get a lot more differentiation.
The extras that we are doing with the video are:
  • A digipak for the album's release
  • A magazine advertisement for the digipak
A task we were set last year was to create a music magazine front cover, contents page and double page spread. That helped us a lot with learning different skills, for example on the Macs but neither Bea or I have ever made a digipak so that shall be exciting to begin learning how to do so!
